How the editorial pipeline works
Every guide on Worlds in Sound follows the same careful route: a question arrives, a specialist researches it, and the finished text lands in your library with sources and recordings attached. The steps below describe what happens between your first message and the published article.
Write to info@worldsinstrument.com with the instrument, region, or era you want covered. A short paragraph about your listening level helps us set the right depth, whether you are new to the topic or already own a shelf of reference pressings.
Within two working days we reply with a proposed outline, the number of recordings we plan to cite, and a delivery date. If the topic needs archival sources or specialist interviews, we say so upfront and adjust the schedule accordingly.
The editor gathers historical context, checks instrument construction details, and listens through candidate recordings to confirm timbre descriptions. Drafts are written in plain language, with technical terms explained on first use.
You receive the draft for comment. We allow one round of structural feedback, then a second pass for factual corrections. Larger rewrites are possible but may shift the delivery date, so we prefer to agree on scope early.
The finished guide arrives as a clean text file with a bibliography, a list of recommended recordings, and links to the relevant pages on this site. You keep full rights to use the text for personal study or teaching.
Most orders are prepared within two working days and shipped shortly after. Transit time depends on your location, but you can expect the package within five to ten working days for most destinations. We send a tracking reference as soon as the parcel leaves our workshop.
Yes, we ship worldwide. Customs procedures and local import duties are the responsibility of the recipient, and we include the necessary documentation with every parcel. If you are unsure about restrictions in your country, contact us before placing an order.
Every shipment includes a tracking number sent by email once the parcel is handed to the carrier. You can follow the progress online, and if the status does not update for several days, write to us and we will investigate with the courier.
If the outer packaging shows visible damage, note it on the delivery receipt before signing. For any internal damage, photograph the item and contact us within 48 hours of receipt. We will arrange a replacement or a return instruction depending on the case.
Express shipping is available for selected regions and is calculated at checkout. The option appears only when the destination is covered by a faster courier service. Standard delivery remains the default for all other locations.
